Spotted this awesome beast on my travels today....must be a recent import as it has relatively new Nova Scotia ‘Camper’ plates for RVs!
Very cool old Magirus-Deutz German RV! Spotted it outside a German cuisine restaurant between Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. Hard to say what year, but research says they were built in various places at various times from ‘77-’91.
Apparently they are originally a FIAT design, but were sold as OMs, Zastavas, Saurers, Ivecos, Otoyols, Magirus-Deutzs (though when sold as those in Germany, they had German Deutz air-cooled diesel engines installed) and FIATS, variously with different configurations!
This RV-bodied one would be based on a Magirus-Deutz 90D/90M. Loving that steel plate front bumper with all the fog lights!
***UPDATE ADDED - Did some research! Turns out they are visiting from Germany
and staying in Canada for a year living out of their cool old van with their dog Freya (hence the name of their blog)
! I was right - it is a M-D 90D from 1977...top speed of 75kph! :D
They have a blog and Instagram, just search up ‘Travel with
Freya’! :)

Cool! Always love your obscure trivia.
I recently saw some cool cantilevered tractors I think you might like

Thanks! :D
Oh, cool! There are definitely not many of those around...at least not here in Nova Scotia. Then again, there isn’t a lot of good farmland here - some in the Annapolis Valley, but that’s about it!
